Selecting the Right Size Boxes for Packing

Conventional wisdom says that you should get the biggest moving house boxes available. Big removal boxes allow you to pack everything you have into as fewer boxes as possible, right?

There’s certainly an argument about getting large house moving boxes. Perhaps the biggest size you will need is an 18 x 18 x 18 shipping box. These boxes are ideal for packing bedding, for example. Bedding is often voluminous, but light – and that is the key to which size boxes for moving house, because if you filled a 18 x 18 x 18 box with all your books, there is a very good chance that you – or your removal company – will not be able to lift it,

this basis, it is important to get a mix of sizes of removal boxes. Yes, big boxes are good, but if they are over-filled they are very heavy and awkward to move.

A moving house box the size of 18 x 12 x 12 is often a good compromise. Being narrower than a large box, they are easier to carry as most people can get their arms around them to physically carry them better.

Other size packing boxes for sale include 14 x 9 x 6 or 9 x 9 x 9, which are good boxes for moving house.

Although smaller than bigger boxes, they enable you to pack smaller or loose items in a confined space. This also allows you to the label the removal boxes more accurately.

For example, a 14 x 9 x 6 box can be labelled – main bedroom top drawer, or kitchen utensils, or kettle with tea and coffee, which will help when you are looking to get that first cup of tea ready when you arrive at your new home and start unpacking those removal boxes.
